Retrieve BDEngine models and animations by export ID. Learn the HTTP API, JSON format, request limits, and requirements for your own Minecraft integration.

BDEngine Server API provides model and animation data published from the editor through Export to Minecraft Server. Publish an export, copy its ID, and use an HTTP request to retrieve the JSON.

BDEngine defines the export format and provides the data. Your integration is responsible for creating entities, playing animations, and storing the result.

Get the data

  1. Publish a model or animation from the editor.
  2. Copy the six-digit export ID.
  3. Request the data before the export expires.

You can make your first request without running Minecraft. No authorization or API key is required.

The editor also provides a quick command, /bde spawn {ID} by default. You can change its prefix to match your own plugin. The command requires an integration that supports it; BDEngine does not provide an official server plugin.

Understand the format

The response depends on the project, export mode, and editor version. It may contain visual entities, animation and sound frames, hitboxes, and metadata. Check the selected Minecraft version and handle optional fields.
