Editor plugins
Create BDEngine plugins in JavaScript. Add interfaces, automate scene operations, and publish your own tools for other users.
A BDEngine plugin is a JavaScript file that extends the editor. Add a settings window, process a selection, generate objects, or create a HeadPaint tool. Basic JavaScript and DOM skills are enough to get started; you do not need a separate build tool.
The main extension interface is window.editorAPI. It is stable and officially
supported. You can also explore and use the editor’s internal capabilities through
window.editor; these dependencies may need adjustments after an update.
See Public API and internal objects
for the distinction.
Create your first plugin
Start with a button and a window. Prepare a file, install it in the editor, restart BDEngine, and open your own interface. Local installation does not require Minecraft or a catalog account.
Solve a specific task
Each guide provides a small, complete tool and a downloadable JavaScript file. Choose a task, learn its main steps, and adapt the example to your workflow.
Find a method and its limitations
The reference describes parameters, return values, and side effects. It also covers editor events and custom objects. Links throughout the guides take you directly to the relevant methods.
Prepare your plugin for other users
Check installation, reopening the interface, and compatibility. Then create a listing in Dev Studio and submit a version for review. After the first approval, your plugin appears in the community catalog.
